I just began a new Bible study with a group of friends. At first, I wasn't going to do the homework, but after listening to the first dvd, I felt the Lord wanted me to dive in and that He had something for me. I have been longing to be in the word more, what better way. In my homework last week, God really spoke to me one day that in order to not be deceived we have to know the Word of God.So last night as we all gathered around to listen to Beth Moore, I felt as if she was speaking directly to me, I love how the Holy Spirit does that! ;) She spoke about Pouring Out, Pouring in, and Pouring forth.
Pouring Out: so many times I have longings in my heart that I can't quite define, many times that creates emptiness. God wants to help us identify the feeling before we make poor decisions because of the lack..... Beth talked about how the flesh will want to lash out from unmet desires. We need to pour out our concerns (fears, anxieties, frustrations....) to Him.
I love Psalms 62:8
O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge.
He longs for us to pour out the concerns of our hearts to Him, to bare our souls. If it concerns our hearts, it concerns the Lord! I feel lately there have been so many things that fit into the category of concern, at times it is relationships, work, family issues, the future, finances, family members that I want to experience the fullness of the Lord, and the list goes on..... God didn't create us to carry the weight of the world, we need to POUR it OUT!!!
We pour out so HE can pour in! Lord satisfy me (Beth said last night that an unsatisfied soul is a stronghold waiting to happen)!!!
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life. Prov. 13:12
Satisfy us each morning with your unfailing love, so we may sing for joy to the end of our lives. Psalm 90:14
I long to experience the fullness in my relationship with the Lord.
